Expedition to the North Pole
Date of Program: April 13-14, 2010 : 2 Days/1 Night
Arrive in Longyearbyen on April 11, Depart Longyearbyen on April 16th or later.

This expedition will give you the chance to
experience life at an Arctic base camp during your
one night
stay at Base Camp Barneo. You will also
go by helicopter to the geographic North Pole,
and
may be able to participate in dog sledding or hot
air ballooning, provided the weather is in
our
favor.

Itinerary from Longyearbyen, Norway
The Expedition begins in
Longyearbyen, Svalbard, Norway(an Arctic
island
north of the
mainland
of Norway). See map for details.
Participants will arrive in
Longyearbyen, Svalbard via Oslo, Norway.
There are flights
arriving daily from Oslo. Call us for
assistance.
IMPORTANT:
Each expedition to the North Pole is the
ultimate adventure full of random factors. Though we are
making all possible efforts to accomplish every expedition, Eagles Cry
Adventures reserves the right
to change or cancel an itinerary due to weather and /or ice conditions,
group fitness, political
situation, strikes, wars, revolutions, terrorism and/or other factors
beyond its control. Such
changes are to be made in our customers interests and with regards to
their safety.

Suggested Schedule for
Participants:

1st day |
Meeting at Longyearbyen airport. (
Spitsbergen , Norway ), transfer to the hotel, that you
have booked.
Collection of your polar clothing kit.
Information meeting, where our staff will brief you on
the current situation at the Barneo Ice Camp, inform
about polar flight departure time, and answer any
questions you might have. |

2nd day |
Transfer to the airport for the
flight to Barneo Ice Camp.
Flight from Longyearbyen to Barneo (approx. flight
duration: 2 hrs 30 min). Arrival to Barneo, acquaintance
with Barneo Ice Camp, located at 89 degree North.
Accommodation will be provided in the heated tents of
the Ice Camp.
Full catering during your stay at Barneo Ice Camp.
Sleeping in the heated tent at Barneo Ice Camp.

3rd day |
MI-8 helicopter brings you to the
geographic North Pole at first chance, depending on
weather and ice conditions (approx. flight duration: 40
min). Celebrating of the arrival to the North Pole. You
have an opportunity to make a short phone call to your
friends or relatives via satellite phone. We have about
1-2 hours at the North Pole.
Return to the Barneo Ice Camp (by MI-8 helicopter,
approx. flight duration: 40 min).
Flight from Barneo to Longyearbyen on the AN-74 aircraft
(approx. flight duration 2 h 30 min).
Transfer to hotel.

4th day |
The North Pole Certificate
ceremony. Time and place are to be discussed with
expedition participants and announced in advance.

5th day |
You have a chance to take part in
Svalbard entertainment programs (for additional costs,
advance booking required).
Transfer to the airport for your flight home. End of our
service.

Travel
costs from your place of residence to Longyearbyen ( Spitsbergen ,
Norway ) and back;
Accommodation in Longyearbyen;
Catering in Longyearbyen;
Transfers in Longyearbyen (excl. airport-hotel-airport for travel home
and hotel-airport-hotel for travel to the North Pole);
Activities in Longyearbyen (dog-sledge rides, tours to the glacier,
excursion to the coal mine: depending on the weather);
Alcohol drinks;
Full
medical-evacuation insurance with minimum coverage for evacuation 50,000
Euro- required;
Insurance against full or partial cancellation of the expedition,
luggage insurance, life insurance (strongly recommended);
Private belongings;
All
the unforeseen costs related to the flights delays;
Souvenirs and postal expenses;
Overweight luggage - 20 Euro/kilo.

Qualifications:
It's relatively easy to participate
in the program. You simply should be able to move.
There are no
special limitations for those who are going to
join
North Pole Base Camp Experience. If you can fly
with
regular flights, you obviously can do with charter
ones. AN-74 is modest but comfortable jet and
MI-8 helicopter is safe but basic. Barneo
facilities are designed for winter camping
standard of
services,
including warmed tents for overnight and
for taking meals. We will provide you with
appropriate winter cloth (see the list) for
temperatures in between - 20 and - 35 C and you
should
be just prepared with warm clothing for inside use
. If you need some specific items, please feel
free
to
request that from us in advance. Check
the list of personal equipment
needed.
Having fun at Barneo and at the
North Pole includes some walking around and a bit
of climbing
pressure ridges of 1 - 2 m high. Be prepared just
for that and do not worry: experienced and
friendly
guides will take care of you.
Please note:
A Deposit of $3,000.00 Euro is required to confirm your place on the
expedition. Of this deposit, $1,000 Euro will be
non-refundable. Deposits will be credited against the balance due at
the exchange rate in effect when final payment is made. Any deposit over the
non-refundable $1,000.00 will be returned
prior to January 15, 2010,
should you
cancel your participation with the
expedition. Full payment is due prior to December 1st, 2009
After January 15th, 2010,
there are no refunds.
Final payments are due prior to January 15, 2010.
Bookings made after February 1, 2010 will
possibly have an increase of 10% of the listed price.
This is a limited participation expedition.
